PROGRAM OVERVIEW

According to the Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013 (Act No. 2 of 2013), Section 6, the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program allows for investment in the National Development Fund, Real Estate, Business, and the University of the West Indies Fund. Applicants must have a clean criminal record, good health, and English proficiency and must undergo a due diligence process.

INVESTMENT TYPE & COST

The government of Antigua and Barbuda offers three options for individuals to become citizens through its Citizenship by Investment Program.

OPTION 1

Non-refundable contribution to Antigua's National Development Fund (NDF).

Payable once the citizenship is approved, the NDF is subject to parliamentary oversight, with biannual reports providing comprehensive details to ensure transparency and accountability. Additionally, the fund undergoes auditing by an internationally recognized accounting firm. The cost varies based on the number of applicants.

  • Non-Refundable Contribution USD 230,000
GOVERNMENT FEES

In addition to the non-refundable contribution, there are Government fees to be paid.

  • Up to a Family of 4 USD 20,000
  • Each Applicant USD 10,000
OPTION 2

Real Estate Investment in Government-Approved Projects

Real Estate Investment through one of the Government approved real estate asset classes: freehold property with title deed; hotel shares; fractional ownership or land. The investment and Government Fees are payable once the citizenship is approved.

  • Minimum Investment (Must be held for 5 years) USD 300,000
GOVERNMENT FEES

In addition to the purchase of real estate, there are Government fees to be paid.

OPTION 3

University of West Indies (UWI) Fund.

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Fund is a mechanism for financing UWI’s fourth landed campus in Antigua and Barbuda. Participation in the option will entitle one member of the family to a one year, tuition only, scholarship at the University of the West Indies.

  • Non- Refundable Contribution for minimum of six (6) family members) USD 260,000

Contribution to the fund is inclusive of processing fees for the first 6 applicants, for applicants from the 7th onwards, US$ 10,000 is applicable. The University of the West Indies is a regional institution that provides service and leadership to the Caribbean region and wider world.

It has over 50,000 students and four major university centres: UWI Mona (Jamaica), UWI Cave Hill (Barbados), UWI St. Augustine (Trinidad and Tobago), and UWI Five Islands (Antigua and Barbuda)

Other Costs

In addition to the required investment, there are other costs for the Antigua and Barbuda citizenship program, which are Citizenship Invest professional fees, documents certifications when applicable, courier fees, and other small disbursements. DUE DILIGENCE & BACKGROUND CHECKS

Applicable to all options

The government requires mandatory background checks to ensure the integrity of the program. A government-appointed due diligence agency conducts these checks and utilises different international and local resources, such as Interpol, World-Check, and other government agencies. The agency checks the applicants' profiles to ensure they are of good character and pose no security risk to Antigua and Barbuda.

    Beginning the Process

    Citizenship Invest’s professional team will assist and advise you in collecting the necessary documents for Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment while pre-screening your passport to ensure we can submit the application to the Government. You must make a down payment for professional fees to start the application process.


    Once your application is ready for submission, you shall pay 10% of Government Processing Fees, Due Diligence fees, and Citizenship Invest’s submission fees. Citizenship Invest will submit your application on your behalf.

    Government Evaluation and Investment Process

    The Government issues a report after conducting the necessary Due Diligence and evaluates it to determine the status of your Citizenship application.


    Once the Government approves your application, they will request that you donate directly to them or invest in real estate through the developer. Additionally, you will need to pay 90% of the remaining Government Fees to Citizenship Invest, and we will remit them to the Government on your behalf.

    You will receive your Antigua and Barbuda citizenship certificates and passports. The remaining balance of the Citizenship Invest professional fee is due once received.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Age

Must be over 18 years old to be the Main Applicant

Good Character

Must not have been denied entry to countries with visa-free agreements with Antigua and Barbuda.

Health

The applicant must be in good health and provide a medical certificate to prove it.

Residence

The applicant must spend at least five days in Antigua and Barbuda within the first five years of obtaining citizenship.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Citizenship by Investment Application Form AB1.
  • Photograph and Signature Certificate Form AB2.
  • Medical Certificate Form AB3 along with Original HIV test results (for all applicants aged 12 or above).
  • Antigua & Barbuda Passport L Form (16 and older).
  • Antigua & Barbuda Passport M Form (Under 16).
  • Certified copies of all passports held.
  • Original or certified copy of birth certificate with Apostille/MOFA attestation.
  • Certified copy of all identity documents/books or cards.
  • Ten (10) original passport-size photos.
  • Certified copy of all military service and discharge documents, if applicable

 

  • Police report for all countries lived in for at least 1 year in the last 10 years.
